The Crown Jewel of Lightning: Pikachu’s Golden Stellar Ascension

Capture a stunning piece of Pokémon history with this pristine copy of the Pikachu ex Special Illustration card. Breaking away from traditional art frames, this legendary card features a breathtaking golden color palette, intricately etched with geometric micro-textures. Pikachu stands proudly at the center under a shimmering, rainbow-faceted Stellar Tera Crown. When tilted in natural light, the card face reveals a stunning chromatic shifting effect that makes the artwork look like a sparkling gemstone.

In active play, the Pikachu ex Special Illustration card is a literal force of nature. On your Bench, its Tera status completely insulates it from damage. Once it charges into the Active Spot, its “Resolute Heart” Ability makes it nearly impossible to defeat in one hit—if it has full HP and would be Knocked Out, it survives with 10 HP remaining instead. This gives you the perfect window to unleash “Topaz Bolt” for a staggering 300 damage, vaporizing almost any opposing threat on the board.

Due to the heavy gold-etched surfaces and borderless design of the Pikachu ex Special Illustration, this card is highly susceptible to microscopic corner wear and surface scuffing if stored in loose plastic sleeves. To safeguard its grading potential, we strongly recommend double-sleeving the card in acid-free barrier sleeves and locking it securely inside a rigid magnetic holder or an archival-grade binder.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why is the Pikachu ex Special Illustration card so expensive?

The Pikachu ex Special Illustration features a highly premium golden foil layout and acts as the “mascot” chase card of the extremely popular Prismatic Evolutions expansion. Its extraordinarily low pull rate, paired with massive global collector demand for Pikachu cards, keeps its secondary market value incredibly high.

Can the “Resolute Heart” ability trigger multiple times?

Yes! If you manage to heal your Pikachu ex Special Illustration back up to its maximum 200 HP, the “Resolute Heart” ability resets and can save the card from another one-hit Knock Out.

How should I prep this card for professional grading?

Handle the card exclusively with powder-free nitryl gloves. Slide the Pikachu ex Special Illustration card directly into a clear penny sleeve, insert it into a semi-rigid card saver, and package it with sturdy cardboard shields to prevent bending during transit.
